Origin and background of the character
The character of Adrian Monk originates from the famous American crime television series *Monk*, created by Andy Breckman in 2002 for the USA Network. The plot follows the investigations of a former San Francisco police officer who became a private consultant after developing severe obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and multiple phobias following the unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy. Despite his paralysing quirks, his eidetic memory and extraordinary powers of observation enable him to spot the slightest clues that would be invisible to the average person. This vinyl figurine perfectly captures his meticulous demeanour, depicting him in his brown suit buttoned right up to the neck, a bottle of wipes or a handkerchief in hand to sanitise his surroundings. An ideal choice to bring an atmosphere of a crime thriller tinged with psychological humour to collectors’ shelves.
