Origin and theme of the collection (Lore)

MOFUSAND is an illustrated world centred on little cats with endearing expressions, regularly depicted in humorous situations or dressed up according to various themes. The collection plays in particular on the contrast between the cats’ very soft appearance and their sometimes unlikely costumes inspired by food, animals or everyday life.

The ‘Kitten-Nyan Tempura’ design fits perfectly within this visual identity by combining a kitten with the world of Japanese tempura. This kind of variation is part of MOFUSAND’s charm, where cats take on the roles of characters, mascots and subjects of little comic scenes in turn.

This 25 × 25 cm mini towel thus transforms one of these illustrations into a compact and functional textile accessory, whilst retaining the light-hearted and kawaii tone characteristic of the collection.
