Character background and universe (Lore)
In the alternate universe of the Marvel Ultimate comics and the Ultimate Universe, Logan’s story takes a particularly dark turn. This feral mutant, the victim of intensive brainwashing, initially served as a ruthless strike force on behalf of the mysterious Council of the Maker. Operating in the shadows under the identity of the fearsome Winter Soldier, he carried out orders without the slightest hesitation.
After managing to break his psychological chains and free himself once and for all from this mental control, he decided to turn his lethal skills against his former masters. He then actively joined the forces of opposition and resistance, adopting his new, legendary codename: Wolverine.
