Iron Studios pays tribute to Gimli with this 1/10 scale Unleashed Art figurine, inspired by *The Lord of the Rings* film trilogy. Depicted in the thick of battle, the dwarf warrior strikes a particularly dynamic pose that showcases his power, his armour and his iconic weapon. This piece stands approximately 25.3 cm tall and is crafted from polystone.
The Unleashed range prioritises a composition that conveys a strong sense of movement. Gimli is depicted at the heart of the action, his axe poised to strike, with a determined expression and a stance that captures his combative spirit. The sculpture pays particular attention to his long beard, his hair, the various pieces of his armour, and the textures of his clothing and equipment. Iron Studios states that the statue is modelled on references from the films and features hand-painted detailing.
The base completes the scene with a combat-oriented design, reinforcing the impression that Gimli has just been captured in the midst of a clash. The 1/10 Art Scale format retains sufficient volume to capture the intricate details of the various layers of his costume, whilst offering dimensions suitable for display alongside other characters from Iron Studios’ The Lord of the Rings collection.

Character background and lore
Gimli is a Dwarf of the House of Durin and the son of Glóin, one of Thorin Oakenshield’s companions on the expedition to Erebor recounted in *The Hobbit*. When Gimli accompanied his father to Rivendell at the end of the Third Age, he was chosen to represent the Dwarves within the Fellowship of the Ring, tasked with accompanying Frodo on his quest against Sauron.
A particularly sturdy warrior, Gimli favours the axe and close-quarters combat. His journey with the Fellowship takes him, amongst other places, through Moria, where he discovers Balin’s tomb, and then on to Lothlórien. His encounter with Galadriel plays an important role in his development and helps to change his view of the Elves.
This development is best illustrated by his friendship with Legolas. Despite the long-standing mistrust between their two peoples, the Dwarf and the Elf gradually become inseparable companions. They fight together at the Battle of Helm’s Deep, travel the Paths of the Dead with Aragorn, and take part in the final battles of the War of the Ring. Their relationship becomes one of the most striking symbols of the reconciliation between Elves and Dwarves.
After the fall of Sauron, Gimli becomes Lord of the Glittering Caves of Aglarond, which he had discovered during the Battle of Helm’s Deep. There he establishes a Dwarf settlement and takes part in various reconstruction projects in the kingdoms of Men. Tradition has it that he eventually left Middle-earth alongside Legolas to sail westwards, an extraordinary testament to their deep friendship.
The Unleashed figurine from Iron Studios depicts Gimli in his most martial guise: a stocky, powerfully armed warrior thrown into the thick of battle – an image that directly reflects his role during the War of the Ring.
