Jinshi is one of the main characters in *The Apothecary’s Notebooks*. He holds an important position within the imperial court and immediately stands out for his beauty, elegance and particularly composed demeanour.
It is he who quickly recognises Maomao’s exceptional talents, particularly her knowledge of medicine, poisons and observation. Intrigued by her intelligence and her indifference to his charms, Jinshi gradually involves her in various matters relating to the palace.
Behind his light-hearted and seductive exterior, however, lies a far more complex character, directly linked to political intrigues and the secrets of the court. His true position and responsibilities play an increasingly significant role as the story unfolds.
The relationship between Jinshi and Maomao is one of the series’ central themes, blending investigations, power struggles, humour and romantic tension. This POP! Animation No. 2594 thus brings to life one of the most important characters in the world of *The Apothecary’s Notebooks*.
