This Milkyboa soft toy from FuRyu depicts Maomao, the heroine of the series *The Apothecary’s Notebooks*. Standing approximately 15 cm tall, she features a chibi style with rounded shapes and deliberately simplified proportions, combined with the soft, fluffy texture characteristic of the Milkyboa range.
Maomao is depicted in her iconic green outfit, with a light-coloured crossover top, dark blue trousers and her dark green hair styled into two small plaits. Her face features her large dark blue eyes, slightly rosy cheeks and the small freckles she usually draws on her nose and cheeks. A blue bow also adorns the top of her hairstyle.
The compact size makes it easy to display the soft toy on a shelf, a desk or as part of a collection dedicated to the series. Its deliberately understated expression and rounded design capture Maomao’s reserved personality whilst adapting it to the gentle aesthetic of the Milkyboa collection.

Character background and universe (Lore)
Maomao is the heroine of *The Apothecary’s Notebooks*. Raised in the pleasure quarter, where she worked as an apothecary, she possesses a particularly extensive knowledge of medicine, medicinal plants, poisons and toxic substances. After being abducted and then sold as a servant to the imperial palace, she finds herself assigned to the emperor’s harem.
Her talent is recognised when she identifies the cause of a mysterious illness affecting the emperor’s children. Jinshi then discovers her skills and appoints her as a poison taster to the concubine Gyokuyo. Endowed with great curiosity and a remarkable eye for detail, Maomao regularly finds herself involved in medical cases, poisonings and various palace mysteries. She also stands out for her almost obsessive fascination with poisons and rare remedies.
