Maomao is the heroine of *The Apothecary’s Notebooks*. The daughter of an apothecary, she possesses extensive knowledge of remedies, medicinal plants and, above all, poisons. After being sold as a servant to the imperial palace, her skills quickly caught Jinshi’s attention.
The Garden Party outfit refers to one of the social events organised within the court, where concubines, their ladies-in-waiting and high-ranking officials gather within a strictly codified setting. These scenes highlight the differences in status, rivalries and social subtleties specific to palace life.
Maomao retains her pragmatic and analytical outlook, paying closer attention to behaviours, symptoms and details that others overlook, rather than to appearances or the prestige of the court.
This 7 cm Nendoroid Plus Maomao Garden Party figure thus showcases a more ceremonial version of the character, whilst retaining her instantly recognisable visual identity.
