Take command of one of the iconic ships from Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These with this Battleship Hyperion model kit from Kotobukiya. Associated with the legendary strategist Yang Wen-li, the Hyperion is reproduced here in an impressive 30 cm long scale model.
The actual ship measures approximately 900 metres in the series’ universe. Kotobukiya has scaled it down to 1/3000 scale, preserving the angular lines, imposing structure and numerous distinctive details of this battleship of the Free Planets Alliance. The three-dimensional design was supervised by Shinji Usui, the ship’s original mechanical designer.
The ship’s various numbers and markings are reproduced using decals, ensuring a more authentic finish once assembled. A transparent display stand is also included so that the Hyperion can be displayed as if it were travelling through space.
The packaging also features an illustration specially created by Kia Asamiya, enhancing the collector’s appeal of this edition. With its imposing size and futuristic military aesthetic, this model kit is a particularly attractive item for fans of space opera, spaceship models and *Legend of the Galactic Heroes*.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes depicts a galactic conflict primarily between two great powers: the authoritarian Galactic Empire andthe Alliance of Free Planets, founded on democratic principles.
The Hyperion is closely associated with Yang Wen-li, a brilliant Alliance commander whose strategic talents regularly enable him to defeat forces vastly superior in number. The ship has thus become one of the symbols of his military career and the campaigns waged by Alliance forces.
With its angular lines, heavily armoured hull and highly functional design, the Hyperion perfectly reflects the Free Planets Alliance’s military approach. Its design contrasts sharply with the more majestic and ceremonial forms of many Galactic Empire vessels.
The version depicted in this kit is directly inspired by *Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These*, a modern reinterpretation of the famous space opera saga. Kotobukiya has reproduced the Hyperion on a large scale to showcase its silhouette and the mechanical details that would be difficult to appreciate on smaller models.
This model kit is therefore a natural complement to the Brünhild, Reinhard von Lohengramm’s iconic ship, allowing you to display, within a single collection, the two great powers and the two strategists at the heart of *Legend of the Galactic Heroes*.
