Origin and character background (Lore)

Rumi is one of the three main heroines of KPop Demon Hunters, alongside Mira and Zoey. Together, they form HUNTR/X, a world-famous K-pop group who also lead a double life as demon hunters.

Charismatic, ambitious and deeply committed to her role, Rumi is the leader of HUNTR/X. She constantly strives to maintain the group’s unity and protect her teammates, whilst concealing a personal secret directly linked to her identity, which plays a central role in her development throughout the story.

The three singers use their performances and their skills as demon hunters to combat demonic forces. Their main challenge takes on a new dimension with the emergence of the Saja Boys, a rival group made up of demons disguised as K-pop idols.

Rumi thus forms the emotional heart of HUNTR/X: as an artist, fighter and leader, she must reconcile the expectations associated with her public image with the more personal conflicts that lie beneath it.
