Origin and backstory of the character
Straight from the phenomenal Game of Thrones prequel, the television series House of the Dragon recounts the glorious and tragic days of the Targaryen dynasty, two centuries before the fall of the Wall. At the centre of this tale of power, blood and fire stands King Viserys I Targaryen. A good, peaceful man deeply committed to maintaining the unity of his kingdom, his stable reign nevertheless harbours the seeds of the terrible civil war known as the "Dance of the Dragons", triggered by the complex issue of his own succession.
This superb version from the Pop! Deluxe range immortalises the ruler of Westeros in his most majestic and symbolic pose: seated upon the legendary Iron Throne, forged from the thousand swords of enemies vanquished by Aegon the Conqueror and melted by the breath of the dragon Balerion. The figurine faithfully recreates the impressive details of the asymmetrical throne bristling with sharp blades, Viserys’ royal robes, not to mention his golden crown. An unmissable and highly charismatic display piece for all fans of George R.R. Martin’s expansive universe.
