Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Created in 1974 by the Japanese company Sanrio, Hello Kitty is a character characterised by her sweetness and benevolence, who over the decades has become a global cultural phenomenon and an absolute emblem of the Kawaii movement. Always ready to try out new cultural and artistic trends, here she appropriates the visual codes of K-Pop (Korean Pop), a hugely successful musical genre renowned for its meticulously choreographed dance routines and colourful, highly polished clothing. This thematic variation celebrates the encounter between the timelessness of the Japanese icon and the boundless energy of the modern pop scene.
