Origin and background of the character
Created in Japan in 1974 by Sanrio, Hello Kitty (whose real name is Kitty White) is one of the most recognisable and influential characters in global pop culture. The ultimate symbol of the ‘kawaii’ cultural movement, this ever-youthful schoolgirl with a big heart is distinguished by the little red bow pinned to her left ear. Through this original collection, dubbed “Animals”, Funko has had fun transforming her traditional look by dressing her in hats and whimsical outfits inspired by wild and domestic animals. Purchasing this complete 12-piece display set is ideal for dedicated collectors looking to complete the series whilst avoiding duplicates.
