Origin and world of the character
Yuzuriha, nicknamed "Yuzuriha de la Keishi" (Yuzuriha the courtesan), is a central character in the manga and anime Hell's Paradise(Jigokuraku), created by mangaka Yuji Kaku. Set at the end of the Edo period in Japan, the story follows a group of criminals condemned to death who are sent to a mysterious and hostile island called Shinsenkyo to recover the Elixir of Life in exchange for a full pardon from the shogunate. A formidable and pragmatic Kunoichi (female ninja), Yuzuriha conceals her deadly skills and lack of scruples beneath a friendly, playful and manipulative demeanour. In combat, she mainly uses techniques based on the manipulation of her own bodily fluid impregnated with occult poison, as well as infiltration and seduction ninjutsu to ensure her survival among the monsters and other condemned.
