HATSUNE MIKU - Street Sekai "Brand New World" - Figure XStellar 21cm

This XStellar figurine from SEGA Goods depicts Hatsune Miku in her Street SEKAI look from *Project SEKAI: Colourful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku*. This ‘Brand New World’ version features the character’s revamped design associated with the *Vivid BAD SQUAD* universe. Made from PVC, the figurine stands approximately 21 cm tall and is designed as a static display piece.

Miku is depicted in a decidedly urban outfit dominated by black. She wears a long jacket with a turned-up collar that falls almost to her ankles, paired with black shorts, straps around her thighs, long white socks and black ankle boots. A touch of light green at the centre of the outfit contrasts with this sombre ensemble. Her famous turquoise hair is styled here into two shorter, wavy plaits, matching her specific appearance in Street SEKAI

The pose is deliberately understated, with Miku standing with her arms held in front of her. This stance highlights the elongated silhouette of her coat as well as the numerous details of her outfit. This version therefore stands out clearly from Hatsune Miku’s standard appearance and from other versions of the character associated with the various SEKAI in Project SEKAI.

SEGA’s XStellar range offers pre-painted collectable figures with a particular focus on the silhouette and the rendering of the costumes. This Street SEKAI version can be paired with the School SEKAI ‘Brand New World’ figurine to bring together different incarnations of Miku corresponding to the universes of the game’s bands.

Character background and universe (Lore)

In Project SEKAI: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku, Hatsune Miku and the other Virtual Singers appear in various forms within worlds known as ‘SEKAI’. These worlds are born from the characters’ true feelings, and their appearance varies depending on the group with which they are associated.

Street SEKAI is linked to Vivid BAD SQUAD, a group comprising Kohane Azusawa, An Shiraishi, Akito Shinonome and Toya Aoyagi. It was born out of their shared desire to pursue their musical dreams and to surpass the legendary RAD WEEKEND event. The setting takes the form of a neighbourhood filled with graffiti, concert posters and venues dedicated to music. In this SEKAI, MEIKO runs a café, whilst Miku and Len accompany the band members and help them come to terms with their true feelings.

The phrase ‘Brand New World’ refers to the major update released to mark Project SEKAI’s third anniversary in September 2023. Among other things, this update saw the characters progress through their school years and featured new main illustrations and costumes for them. The outfits of the Virtual Singers originally featured in each SEKAI were also redesigned for the occasion.

This XStellar figurine depicts precisely this new look for Hatsune Miku in Street SEKAI. Her long black coat, urban accessories and distinctive hairstyle make her instantly recognisable as the Miku associated with Vivid BAD SQUAD following the ‘Brand New World’ visual update.
