Narrative context and universe (Lore)
Hatsune Miku is a Vocaloid-style virtual musical entity originally developed by Crypton Future Media. This voice synthesis programme, embodied in the form of an anime-style pop idol, has become a global collaborative icon fuelled by the musical and graphic creations of its user community.
TheSakura Mikuvariant is an official spin-off version created to celebrate spring and the cherry blossom season in Japan (hanami). It transforms the character’s original design (usually characterised by blue-green tones and futuristic details) into a spring-themed colour scheme of all-pink and white. Her hair accessories have also been transformed into fruits to reflect the themes of nature and seasonal renewal that are central to this cultural celebration.
