Origin and character background (Lore)

Hatsune Miku is a virtual singer developed by Crypton Future Media using voice synthesis software. Launched in 2007, she quickly became one of the most iconic figures in Japanese digital music culture.

Recognisable by her long turquoise hair tied in two plaits and her futuristic design, Miku does not have a single, fixed backstory. Instead, she serves as a genuine creative canvas for composers, illustrators and artists, who can reinterpret her in a multitude of styles.

This creative freedom has given rise to countless alternative versions, ranging from seasonal outfits to concepts inspired by fantasy, flowers, fairy tales and even fashion. The Flower Fairy range is very much in keeping with this tradition, offering a softer, more natural and fairy-tale-like vision of the character.

Thanks to this ability to constantly reinvent herself, Hatsune Miku has become a true global icon, featuring in virtual concerts, video games, artistic collaborations and a vast array of figurine collections.
