Origin and background of the product
According to tales from the magical world, it was King Ragnuk I who forged this sword from pure silver on behalf of the school’s co-founder, Godric Gryffindor. Dazzled by the beauty of the finished work, the Goblin King was overcome with greed and falsely accused the wizard of stealing it from him. After a failed attempt to recover it by force, Ragnuk was forced to return the weapon to its owner. This historical incident gave rise to a false legend of theft that still persists amongst several contemporary goblin groups, such as Gripsec. Imbued with Basilisk venom, the sword possesses the unique ability to appear in the Sorting Hat to aid wizards who demonstrate exemplary courage.
