This Pyramid International magnetic bookmark, officially licensed by Harry Potter, is based on the famous Marauder’s Map. Listed by the manufacturer as ‘The Marauder’s Map Magnetic Bookmark’, it transforms the appearance of Hogwarts’ magical parchment into a small accessory for use with novels, notebooks, diaries or textbooks. Its magnetic mechanism allows it to hold the desired page precisely whilst remaining particularly compact.
The design echoes the aged look of the Marauder’s Map, with a beige background reminiscent of parchment and numerous brown lines. The upper section bears the Latin phrase ‘Itinerarium Maraudentium’ as well as the names of its four creators under their nicknames: Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs. Further down is a detailed depiction of Hogwarts surrounding the inscription ‘The Marauder’s Map’.
The various lines, annotations, footprints and cartographic features are a direct homage to the artefact seen in the series. This finish gives the bookmark the appearance of a miniature fragment of the real map, whilst retaining a practical size for everyday use.

Origin and lore
The Marauder’s Map is one of the most iconic magical objects in the Harry Potter universe. It was created whilst they were pupils at Hogwarts by James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, who went by the nicknames Prongs, Padfoot, Moony and Wormtail respectively. The four friends formed the group known as the Marauders.
At first glance, the map looks like a simple piece of blank parchment. However, it reveals an extremely detailed map of Hogwarts Castle and its grounds when activated using a wand and the appropriate spell. Thanks in particular to the Homunculus Charm, it is able to indicate the position and movements of people within the castle, even when they are using an Invisibility Cloak, Polyjuice Potion or an Animagus transformation.
The Marauders created the map to facilitate their clandestine movements around Hogwarts and to identify the castle’s many secret passages. After they left school, it was confiscated by Argus Filch before being discovered years later by Fred and George Weasley. The twins eventually gave it to Harry Potter, unaware at the time that his own father was one of the four creators.
The Marauder’s Map plays a particularly significant role in *Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban*, where it allows Harry to explore Hogwarts and its passages to Hogsmeade more freely. It remains a valuable tool throughout several instalments of the series. This bookmark directly draws on the map’s imagery and is therefore a particularly fitting choice for an accessory designed to accompany reading.
