Origin and background of the character
Making a memorable appearance in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the Grindylow is a demonic water creature that inhabits the deep lakes of Great Britain, notably the Black Lake at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Recognisable by its sea-green colour, small horns and long, slender yet particularly powerful fingers, this aquatic predator is extremely hostile towards wizards and humans. During the second task of the Triwizard Tournament, a colony of Grindylows lurking in the seaweed viciously attacked Harry Potter and succeeded in eliminating Fleur Delacour from the competition by assaulting her underwater.
This superb diorama, crafted by The Noble Collection, captures the creature’s wild nature. The Strangulot is depicted in full underwater action, claws outstretched, baring its sharp teeth amidst dark, undulating tentacles and aquatic seaweed. The detailed sculpting of its rough skin and the shades of green and brown convey the darkness of the lake depths with striking realism. The removable illustrated background included in the display case enhances the immersion in this iconic underwater scene. An exceptional choice for wizards looking to complete the sea monster section of their collection.
