Origin and background of the franchise (Lore)
The Deathly Hallows play a central role in the final part of the Harry Potter story. According to the legend recounted in *The Tale of the Three Brothers*, three exceptional magical objects were said to have been given to the Peverell brothers: the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone and the Cloak of Invisibility.
The symbol of the Hallows combines these three objects into a geometric shape. The triangle represents the Cloak of Invisibility, the circle symbolises the Resurrection Stone and the vertical line corresponds to the Elder Wand.
In *Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows*, Harry, Ron and Hermione gradually discover the meaning of this symbol and the history of the three objects. The quest for the Relics runs parallel to their struggle against Voldemort and the Horcruxes, placing these artefacts at the heart of themes relating to death, power and personal choices.
The symbol has since become one of the most instantly recognisable emblems of the Harry Potter universe, making it a particularly suitable motif for clothing and accessories aimed at fans of the series.
