Origin and background of the character
Originally launched in the UK in 1966 by Palitoy as the European equivalent of the American G.I. Joe, Action Man has become an absolute icon of pop culture and action figures. A true all-round adventurer, he has left his mark on generations of children through his various incarnations as a soldier, diver, pilot or explorer, recognisable by his distinctive scar on his cheek. His official inclusion in the G.I. Joe Classified Series celebrates the fusion of these two major military and heroic worlds in the history of toys, offering a modernised and highly collectable version of this great classic.
