CHARACTER BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT
Created by Scott Cawthon for the independent horror video game released in 2014, Freddy Fazbear is a brown anthropomorphic animatronic bear, wearing a black top hat and equipped with a microphone. He is the main mascot of the fictional pizzeriaFreddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a family entertainment centre. At night, this automaton and his companions roam freely around the premises in search of the security guard. The character quickly became a central figure in the survival horror video game genre, extending his presence across multiple sequels, novels and a film adaptation.
