Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Introduced in 2001 in the initial part of the saga, Brian O'Conner is initially an LAPD police officer tasked with infiltrating the illegal street racing scene in Los Angeles to investigate truck hijackings. Immortalised on screen by actor Paul Walker, the character eventually decides to betray his superiors out of loyalty and friendship to Dominic Toretto. Becoming a fugitive, then an occasional federal agent, he establishes himself as the co-leader of the "Family" and Mia Toretto's companion. An exceptional driver associated with legendary vehicles such as the Mitsubishi Eclipse and the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, his career embodies the franchise's transition to international action films.
