Descrizione

Max Factory and Good Smile Company have released a pre-war military version of the iconic T-60 power armour from Fallout as part of the PLAMATEA range. Presented as an articulated model kit measuring approximately 20 cm when assembled, this model captures the armour’s massive silhouette with its imposing shoulder pads, fully enclosed helmet and the numerous mechanical components visible between the armour plates. The BEM’S product code corresponds to the ‘Pre-War Military T-60 Power Armour’ variant, which is distinct from the metal version associated with the Brotherhood of Steel.

This version is characterised by a military olive-green livery that directly evokes its use by the US armed forces prior to the Great War. The armour plates are complemented by brownish pipes, metal joints and several technical markings on the chest plate. The helmet retains the narrow visors, breathing tubes and mechanical components characteristic of the T-60 model.

Thanks to its numerous joints, the model can assume various combat poses. The visuals notably show the armour equipped with an imposing minigun or a rifle, as well as a set of accessories comprising several interchangeable hands, a pistol and various small elements from the Fallout universe. This configuration allows for varied displays depending on the chosen equipment.

The PLAMATEA finish particularly highlights the armour’s mechanical structure: pistons, pipes, joints and chassis components remain visible between the various plates. The rear view also reveals the mechanical system on the back and the supply lines, which contribute to the characteristic industrial appearance of Fallout’s power armour.

Character background and universe (Lore)

In the Fallout universe, power armour represents one of the most significant military advancements developed by the United States prior to the Great Nuclear War of 2077. Designed as fully-fledged armoured exoskeletons, they enhance the wearer’s protection and physical capabilities whilst enabling them to wield heavy weapons that would be difficult for a conventional infantryman to handle.

The T-60 was developed following the American victory at the Battle of Anchorage and began to be deployed to US Army units shortly before the outbreak of the Great War. Several units were still in storage or being deployed when the bombs fell, which explains the presence of numerous T-60 suits in the post-apocalyptic world centuries later.

After the war, the T-60 became particularly associated with the Brotherhood of Steel, which salvaged, maintained and brought back into service a large quantity of old military technology. In Fallout 4 in particular, this armour is one of the most distinctive pieces of kit worn by the Brotherhood’s heavy troops.

This PLAMATEA version, however, chooses to depict the T-60 prior to its adoption by the Brotherhood of Steel. Its olive-green colour scheme and military markings are a direct reference to its origins within the US armed forces, thus offering a depiction of the armour as it might have appeared before the collapse of the world on 23 October 2077.
