This Dungeons & Dragons money box from Monogram International transforms one of the role-playing game’s most recognisable symbols into a decorative and functional item: the famous 20-sided die, or D20. Made from PVC and measuring approximately 20 cm, it serves both as a money box for storing coins and as a decorative feature for a room dedicated to role-playing games.
The design replicates the icosahedral shape of a D20, with its twenty triangular faces. The money box features a predominantly black finish, contrasted by large red numerals. One of the faces replaces the traditional numbering with the famous Dungeons & Dragons dragon ampersand, instantly recognisable to fans of the franchise.
Thanks to its size, which is significantly larger than that of a real gaming die, the D20 becomes a decorative item that stands out on a shelf, in a gaming room or next to a collection of D&D books and accessories. Its PVC construction also allows it to serve a practical function as a money box without losing the visual identity of the accessory from which it draws its inspiration.

Dungeons & Dragons was launched in 1974 and went on to become one of the most influential tabletop role-playing games of its kind. Originally created by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson, the game invites players to take on the roles of characters in adventures led by a game master, combining exploration, storytelling, combat and chance. The official D&D website now traces more than fifty years of editions and evolution since the original 1974 version.
Among the various dice used during a game, the D20 plays a central role. The current rules of Dungeons & Dragons describe it as the primary die used to determine whether an action succeeds or fails. Ability checks, attack rolls and saving throws all rely on a roll of the D20, to which the appropriate modifiers are added before the result is compared to a target value.
The result 20 itself holds particular significance: during an attack roll, rolling a natural 20 results in a critical hit. This mechanic, combined with the constant presence of the D20 around the table, has gradually made it one of the visual symbols most immediately associated with tabletop role-playing.
This Monogram piggy bank therefore features not a specific character or creature from Dungeons & Dragons, but the object that directly symbolises the decisions, successes and plot twists of a game of D&D.
