DRAGON BALL Z - Son Goku SS2 - Figure The Chronicle of Goku 25cm

See Son Goku in his Super Saiyan 2 form with this impressive Banpresto figurine from the Ichibansho – The Chronicle of Goku collection. Standing approximately 25 cm tall, it depicts the Saiyan in one of his most iconic appearances from the Majin Buu saga of Dragon Ball Z, with a powerful pose designed to emphasise the full intensity of this transformation.

The sculpture captures the key characteristic features of this version of Goku: his wildly spiked blonde hair, distinctive of Super Saiyan 2; his translucent aura; his famous orange gi combined with dark blue elements; and his boots with red accents. With his legs apart, fists clenched and arms drawn slightly back, the character exudes a sense of concentration and rising power.

Made from PVC, this piece is part of the Masterlise / Ichibansho range, known for its large-scale figurines that emphasise the sculpting and visual presence of the characters. The Chronicle of Goku collection traces the hero’s various appearances throughout his journey, making this Super Saiyan 2 version a particularly suitable addition to a collection dedicated to Son Goku’s transformations.

Character background and lore

Son Goku is the central protagonist of Dragon Ball and one of the last surviving members of the Saiyan race. Following the events of the Cell Saga, he continues his training in the Afterlife and returns temporarily to Earth during the Majin Buu Saga, recognisable by the halo above his head. It is during this period that Dragon Ball Z notably highlights his mastery of Super Saiyan 2, a more powerful evolution of the Super Saiyan.

Super Saiyan 2 is visually distinguished by even more spiky hair and the electric discharges that traditionally accompany the fighter’s aura. Whilst aboard Babidi’s spaceship, Goku utilises this power during his clash with Yakon. His damaged uniform and halo are, in fact, elements regularly featured in official depictions of this version of the character.

This transformation plays a particularly significant role during the duel between Goku and Majin Vegeta. Under Babidi’s influence, Vegeta provokes his rival in order to secure the fight he has long desired, leading the two Saiyans to face off at full power in their Super Saiyan 2 forms. This duel has become one of the iconic battles of the Majin Buu saga and is one of the most recognisable depictions of Goku in this transformation.
