This Banpresto figurine depicts Majin Buu in his original, pure form – commonly known as Kid Buu – as part of the GX Materia collection. Standing approximately 28 cm tall and featuring a spectacular energy effect, it depicts Dragon Ball Z’s final major adversary at the moment he is concentrating his power above his head.
Majin Buu is depicted standing, his torso slightly tilted and his right arm fully extended above his head. His hand supports a vast, translucent purple energy effect, with several long tendrils cascading down around the central point of impact. This effect piece accounts for a significant proportion of the total height and forms the central element of the GX Materia concept, a range renowned for pairing characters with translucent effects that lend greater volume and dynamism to their attacks.
The sculpture faithfully captures Kid Buu’s appearance: a pink, muscular body; a long, curved protrusion at the top of his skull; small black pores visible on his head, torso and arms; and an aggressive expression baring his teeth. His left arm is held down with a clenched fist, emphasising the contrast with his right arm, which is fully outstretched towards the sky.
His outfit consists of the wide grey trousers characteristic of Majin Buu, a black belt adorned with a golden buckle bearing the ‘M’ symbol, black cuffs edged in gold, and matching boots. The numerous pleats in the trousers add volume to the lower part of the figure, whilst the translucent purple finish of the energy effect contrasts sharply with the character’s shades of pink, grey and black.

Character background and universe (Lore)
Pure Majin Buu, commonly known as Kid Buu, is the original form of Majin Buu and appears during the final part of the Majin Buu arc. After Goku and Vegeta fuse to form Vegito, the two Saiyans manage to penetrate Super Buu’s body and free the fighters he had absorbed. When Good Majin Buu also separates from him, Buu finally reverts to his original, pure form.
This transformation is accompanied by particularly unpredictable and destructive behaviour. Shortly after reverting to this form, Majin Buu launches an attack powerful enough to destroy the Earth. Goku, Vegeta and a few survivors are saved by the Kaio Shin and transported to the Sacred World of the Kaio Shin, where Kid Buu eventually joins them to continue the battle.
Goku then faces Buu as a Super Saiyan 3 before Vegeta and Good Majin Buu also join the fray. The final victory is secured thanks to a colossal Genki Dama fuelled by the energy of the inhabitants of the restored Earth. Goku finally manages to destroy Pure Majin Buu and wishes that he might one day be reborn in a better form so that he can face him again. This wish will come true with Uub, the human reincarnation of Kid Buu.
The GX Materia figurine specifically chooses to depict the destructive nature of this final form: rather than a neutral pose, Kid Buu is shown concentrating a gigantic burst of purple energy above him, reminiscent of the colossal attacks used during the final battles of Dragon Ball Z.
