Origin and character background (Lore)

Tac, known as Dale in the original version, forms one of Disney’s most famous comedy duos alongside Tic (Chip). The two chipmunks appear in numerous short films in which their pranks pit them against characters such as Donald Duck and Pluto.

Tac is generally portrayed as the more carefree, spontaneous and mischievous of the pair. He is easily recognisable by his red nose, his slightly gapped teeth and his expression, which is often more laid-back than Tic’s.

Over the decades, Chip and Dale have become iconic characters in the Disney universe and also took centre stage in*Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers*, where they lead a team of adventurous detectives.

Thanks to his cheerful nature and instantly recognisable design, Dale remains one of the most beloved supporting characters in the classic Disney universe to this day.
