Origin and background of the character
Patamon is one of the most iconic and endearing mascots from the original Japanese animated series Digimon Adventure, the famous cross-media franchise launched in the late 1990s. Resembling a small, plump mammal with large ears resembling bat wings, he soars clumsily through the air and attacks his enemies by firing spheres of compressed air (Air Shot). As the designated partner of the young Takeru Takaishi (TK), Patamon makes up for his fragility with exceptional purity of spirit and courage. His long-awaited digivolution into the powerful Holy Angel Angemon remains one of the most striking, redeeming and memorable moments in the saga’s history. Banpresto’s “Sofvimates” collection draws on all its expertise to reproduce the character’s large, expressive eyes and authentic orange and cream colours with surgical precision, offering an essential piece for all fans of the Digital World.
