This Funko POP! Heroes No. 661 figurine depicts Absolute Brainiac, the radically reimagined version of one of Superman’s long-standing adversaries in DC Comics’ Absolute Universe. Standing approximately 10.7 cm tall, it features a Glow-in-the-Dark finish, allowing certain parts of the figurine to glow in the dark after being exposed to light.
The design differs markedly from traditional depictions of Brainiac. This incarnation features an enormous green head with sunken features and an unsettling grin, topped by an exposed purple brain. Several purple tubes extend from the top and sides of the head to encircle the figure, emphasising its appearance as a creature that is half-organic, half-technological.
The body also blends biological and mechanical elements. The green torso is criss-crossed by several purple connections and rests on a metallic-grey lower section comprising angular legs. Circular purple details appear on the torso and joints, creating a striking contrast with the green skin and the dark mechanical structure.
This deliberately unsettling appearance is faithful to the portrayal of Absolute Brainiac in the comics, where the character is depicted as a grotesque fusion of flesh and machine. The phosphorescent effect adds an extra dimension to the display and immediately sets this No. 661 apart from conventional POP! figures.

Character background and universe (Lore)
Brainiac is historically one of Superman’s major adversaries. In the classic DC continuity, he first appeared in Action Comics No. 242 in 1958. Generally associated with the planet Colu, he possesses a level-twelve intelligence and uses extremely advanced technology to accumulate knowledge, going so far as to capture and miniaturise entire cities in order to preserve the information for his own use.
The Absolute Universe, however, presents a profoundly different take on the character. Absolute Brainiac takes centre stage in *Absolute Superman* No. 7, published in May 2025. DC reveals that the alien technology he has appropriated plays a key role in the global success of Lazarus Corp. His lair also contains numerous bottled cities, which he keeps and tortures in a particularly dark take on the classic Brainiac concept.
This incarnation takes the fusion of organism and machine even further. DC describes Absolute Brainiac as a hybrid composed of robotics and decaying flesh, with an exposed brain and largely mechanical legs. He conducts particularly cruel experiments on his prisoners and becomes one of the most unsettling antagonists faced by Absolute Superman.
Brainiac is also linked to Lazarus Corp and Ra’s al Ghul. In this continuity, he acts notably as the organisation’s head of research and development and participates in projects aimed at manipulating Superman and exploiting his anger. The confrontation with Brainiac leaves Kal-El deeply scarred in the events that follow.
POP! No. 661 faithfully recreates this particularly unsettling reimagining: an exposed brain, discoloured green skin, purple tubes and mechanical components combine to form a figure a far cry from the classic Brainiac. The Glow-in-the-Dark finish completes this aesthetic, transforming the Absolute Universe’s antagonist into a luminous collector’s item.
