Origin and background of the character
Created by Joss Whedon in 1997, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a fantasy television series that became a defining landmark of pop culture and the world of television in the 1990s and 2000s. The plot follows Buffy Summers, a seemingly ordinary schoolgirl, chosen by fate to be the ‘Slayer’: the only girl of her generation endowed with superhuman strength and reflexes to fight vampires, demons and the forces of darkness. The Scythe is a legendary weapon of exceptional power, forged long ago by the Watchers for the Slayer. Discovered by Buffy during the series’ final season, this ancient weapon not only enables her to defeat elite creatures, but also plays a pivotal role in the final battle at the Mouth of Hell by awakening the potential of all Slayers across the world. This Funko Pop! figurine perfectly captures the determination of the young woman wielding this historic symbol from the franchise’s lore.
