Origin and background of the franchise (Lore)

Pokémon is one of the world’s most famous entertainment franchises. Created in Japan in the 1990s around the video games by Game Freak and Nintendo, this universe centres on exploring a world populated by creatures called Pokémon, which Trainers can encounter, capture, train and battle with.

Since the first adventures in the Kanto region, the franchise has expanded considerably to include new generations of Pokémon, numerous regions, animated series, films, a trading card game and a wide range of merchandise.

Creatures such as Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Eevee and even Charizard have become true icons of pop culture and are now among the most recognisable characters in the world of video games.

With this Bitty Display range, Funko brings the Pokémon universe to life in a miniature format that is particularly well-suited to collectors wishing to build up their collection whilst maintaining a compact and easy-to-display presentation.
