AVENGERS DOOMSDAY - Doom has no rivals - Poster 61 x 91cm

Show off the menace of Doctor Doom with this official Avengers: Doomsday ‘Doom Has No Rivals’ maxi poster, published by Grupo Erik. In a vertical format, this poster places the masked overlord at the centre of an imposing composition, surrounded by several heroes gathered for Marvel Studios’ next major cinematic event.

The design features a retro mosaic aesthetic dominated by shades of golden yellow, dark green and orange. Doctor Doom’s monumental face takes centre stage on the poster, whilst various panels feature several protagonists from Doomsday, including Thor, Sam Wilson / Captain America, Cyclops, Mister Fantastic, The Thing, Yelena Belova, The Beast and Black Panther. The Avengers logo is also incorporated into this fragmented composition.

The whole is framed by the slogan ‘DOOM HAS NO RIVALS’, spread out in large black letters across the top and bottom of the poster. This deliberately bold typography reinforces Doctor Doom’s dominant position and gives the poster an appearance reminiscent of a propaganda poster or a reimagined retro visual.

Origin and character lore

Victor von Doom, better known as Doctor Doom, is one of Marvel’s most iconic villains. A scientific genius, master of technology and practitioner of magic in the comics, he traditionally rules over the fictional nation of Latveria. His metallic armour and mask have become inseparable from the character, who is historically linked to the Fantastic Four but regularly finds himself pitted against numerous other Marvel heroes.

In *Avengers: Doomsday*, Doctor Doom is played by Robert Downey Jr. The film brings together heroes from three distinct universes, set on a collision course in the face of an existential threat. The cast notably includes members of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men, which explains the diversity of characters gathered around Doom on this poster.

The slogan ‘Doom Has No Rivals’ perfectly sums up the visual approach of this poster: Doctor Doom physically dominates the entire composition, whilst his future adversaries are arranged in small panels around him. Grupo Erik thus transforms the showdown heralded in *Avengers: Doomsday* into a visual centred on the character’s power and omnipresence.
