This Kotobukiya model kit depicts the MIRAGE C01-GAEA in its special ‘Red Metal’ version, from the Armored Core Nexus universe. This re-release features a colour variant previously offered as a limited edition, with metallic red armour using the same main colour scheme as the MIRAGE C02-URANUS.
Once assembled, the mecha stands approximately 16 cm tall at a scale of 1/72. Its configuration includes the H11-QUEEN head, the C01-GAEA core, the A11-MACAQUE arms and the LH09-COUGAR2 legs. Its equipment is particularly comprehensive, featuring a CR-WR93RL rifle, the famous WL-MOONLIGHT laser blade, a MAGORAGA missile module, a CR-WB91LGL linear cannon and the FUNI extension.
The kit is part of Kotobukiya’s Variable Infinity range, designed around the customisation concept unique to Armored Core. The various parts are compatible with other V.I. Series items, allowing you to modify the mecha’s configuration and create your own assemblies. Several types of hands are also included to vary the display and equipment.

Origin and universe of the mecha (Lore)
The MIRAGE C01-GAEA appears in Armored Core Nexus, an instalment in the mecha combat game series developed by FromSoftware. In this universe, Armored Cores are highly modular combat machines whose various parts — head, core, arms, legs, weapons and supplementary equipment — can be swapped out to adapt the mecha to different missions and piloting styles.
The C01-GAEA is associated with the manufacturer MIRAGE and forms the core of a complete configuration combining several components and weapon systems. This modularity is directly replicated by Kotobukiya’s Variable Infinity range, whose kits allow numerous parts to be swapped between different Armored Cores.
The Red Metal version replicates the C01-GAEA’s configuration exactly whilst giving it a special metallic red colour scheme, identical to the red used on the MIRAGE C02-URANUS. It thus allows collectors to acquire a former limited-edition variant in the form of a new edition of the model kit.
