Origin and world of the character
The Dark Magician is one of the most iconic, powerful and famous monsters in the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga and trading card game, created by Kazuki Takahashi. In the original animated series, this magical entity with fearsome attacks (2500 ATK) is the major asset, the signature and the most loyal partner in the deck of the protagonist, Yugi Muto (and Pharaoh Atem). Linked to the mysteries of ancient Egypt, the Dark Magician embodies absolute loyalty throughout the ages. Like his rival Seto Kaiba's Blue-Eyed White Dragon, this character has left his mark on the history of pop culture. This three-dimensional "Premium Card" design celebrates the nostalgia of the paper game by materialising the summoning of the monster, who is physically extracted from the illustration of his own card to come to life on the duelling field.
