X-MEN '97 - Marvel's Havok - Figure Legend Series 15cm

Meet Alex Summers, alias Havok, with this 15 cm articulated figure from Hasbro’s Marvel Legends Series. Directly inspired by his appearance in Marvel Studios’ X-Men ’97, this version features a blue and yellow uniform that visually integrates him into the new team of mutants.

The figure depicts Havok with his blonde hair, his blue suit with yellow trim and the large yellow motif on his chest. Its design thus moves away from the classic black suit often associated with the character in the comics to reflect his specific appearance in the animated series.

Fully articulated, the figure allows you to recreate various combat poses. It comes with four accessories, including two interchangeable hands and two large translucent effects representing the plasma discharges characteristic of Havok’s powers.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Alexander ‘Alex’ Summers, alias Havok, is a mutant from the Marvel Universe and the younger brother of Scott Summers, better known as Cyclops.

The two brothers were separated during their childhood after the family’s aeroplane was attacked by a Shi’ar spacecraft. Scott and Alex survived by using the only available parachute, whilst their parents were captured. Alex was subsequently adopted and grew up apart from his brother.

His mutant powers manifest later in life. Havok is able to absorb ambient cosmic energy and then convert it into powerful plasma blasts. He can project this energy from his body and focus it in a specific direction, usually through his arms.

The visual representation of his powers is traditionally associated with a series of concentric circles. The two translucent effects included with this Marvel Legends figure directly echo this distinctive motif.

Alex eventually joins the X-Men and gradually learns to better control his abilities. His relationship with Cyclops forms an important part of his story: despite their family ties, Havok must regularly find his own place without remaining in his elder brother’s shadow.

He also shares a particularly significant relationship with Lorna Dane, alias Polaris. Both were members of the X-Men and various incarnations of X-Factor, with Havok notably having led the latter team.

Throughout his comic book history, Alex Summers also joined the Starjammers and took part in numerous conflicts involving the Shi’ar, before leading various teams of mutants and even a team of Avengers designed to foster cooperation between humans and mutants.

In *X-Men ’97*, Havok appears with a design adapted to the aesthetic of the animated series. This Marvel Legends Series figure faithfully recreates this new look with his blue and yellow uniform and circular plasma effects.
