Origin and character background (Lore)
Wednesday Addams is one of the iconic members of the Addams Family. Recognisable by her austere appearance, her long black plaits and her particularly macabre sense of humour, she stands out for her intelligence, her independence and her fascination with all things mysterious and morbid.
In the series *Wednesday*, Wednesday enrols at Nevermore Academy, a school attended by pupils with various supernatural abilities. Whilst trying to master her own psychic visions, she finds herself caught up in a series of murders and mysteries linked to the history of the school and the neighbouring town of Jericho.
Writing also plays a significant part in her character. Wednesday regularly works on a crime novel using a traditional typewriter, deliberately shunning modern technologies such as smartphones and social media.
The typewriter thus becomes an element immediately associated with her personality: methodical, deliberately anachronistic and entirely focused on her own creative world. This mug captures precisely this facet of the character by linking it to one of her most distinctive possessions.
