Banpresto Espresto Figurine — Urusei Yatsura — Lum 19cm
This vinyl figurine from the prestigious Espresto range by leading manufacturer Banpresto pays tribute to the most famous, bubbly and eccentric of all alien princesses: Lum (Lamu).
The figurine stands at an impressive height of approximately 19 cm, offering excellent visual impact, ideal for enhancing a display cabinet or taking pride of place on a manga shelf. True to the philosophy of the “Espresto” collection, which aims to highlight and enhance a specific characteristic of the character, the design emphasises the silky texture of her hair and the airy dynamism of her posture. The high-quality PVC sculpture pays meticulous attention to the heroine’s iconic features. It features her two small horns on her forehead, her large, expressive eyes and her famous tiger-print bikini. The piece benefits from a paint finish with contrasting effects, beautifully capturing the shifting highlights of her blue-green hair.
This officially licensed collectable is aimed directly at die-hard fans of Rumiko Takahashi’s work, those nostalgic for retro romantic comedies, and enthusiasts of Banpresto figurines. The item is supplied mounted on its dedicated display base inside an illustrated printed box.

Character background and lore
Created in 1978 by Rumiko Takahashi in the cult manga Urusei Yatsura, Lum is an alien princess from the Oni race. She arrives on Earth when her race decides to invade the planet, offering humans a chance of salvation through a computer duel. The fate of the world is then, by chance, entrusted to Earth’s most unlucky and womanising high school student, Ataru Moroboshi. Following a memorable misunderstanding during his victory, Ataru shouts with joy whilst thinking of his girlfriend, but Lum interprets his words as a formal marriage proposal. Falling head over heels in love with him, she settles on Earth and proclaims herself his lawful wife. With the ability to fly through the air and generate powerful electric shocks whenever she is jealous or angry, Lum turns the young man’s daily life into a state of constant farcical chaos, becoming one of the most iconic female characters in the history of Japanese animation.
