Origin and character’s universe
Aired in the late 1990s, the cult CGI animated series Animutants (Transformers: Beast Wars) radically reimagined the lore of Hasbro’s famous franchise. The plot follows the distant descendants of the Autobots, the Maximals, who have crash-landed on a prehistoric Earth and find themselves facing the fearsome Predacons. To survive the radiation from raw Energon, the robots take on the forms of organic creatures. Optimus Primal, the respected and courageous leader of the Maximals, chooses to transform into a powerful black gorilla. Although he shares the sense of justice and heroism of his legendary ancestor Optimus Prime, Primal stands out for his more youthful leadership style, which keeps him close to his troops, and his great tactical versatility in battle. This Funko Pop! figure captures his robotic combat form with remarkable accuracy, establishing itself as an essential nostalgic piece for all fans of this legendary era of the saga.
