Character background and lore
Based on the best-selling manga written and illustrated by Ken Wakui, Tokyo Revengers brilliantly blends the conventions of Japanese gangster stories with the paradoxes of time travel. The story follows Takemichi Hanagaki, a 26-year-old drifting through life, who learns of the death of his only girlfriend from secondary school, Hinata Tachibana, murdered by the notorious Tokyo Manji gang. Immediately after being pushed onto the underground tracks, Takemichi is transported 12 years into the past.
Determined to use this second chance to change the course of events, he infiltrates the ranks of the gang, then led by the charismatic Mikey and Draken. Nicknamed the ‘Crybaby Hero’ due to his initial physical weaknesses, Takemichi makes up for this with extraordinary moral courage and exceptional psychological resilience, willing to take the hardest blows to protect those he loves and reshape the future. This figurine captures his entry into the thick of this urban turf war, establishing itself as a centrepiece for all fans of action and Japanese manga dramas.
