THE SUMMER HIKARU DIED - Yoshiki & Hikaru - Statue 15cm

This MiraiMira figurine set depicts Yoshiki Tsujinaka and Hikaru, the two central characters from *The Summer Hikaru Died*. Depicted in a chibi style with deliberately simplified proportions, the two friends are brought together in a scene inspired by the anime, offering a lighter portrayal of their everyday lives despite the series’ mysterious atmosphere.

Yoshiki and Hikaru are depicted sitting side by side in front of a shop, each enjoying an ice cream. Their uniforms, hairstyles and expressions make the two characters instantly recognisable. The scene is completed by an acrylic diorama recreating the shop’s surroundings, complete with its sign and various decorative elements.

The figures are approximately 10 cm tall, whilst the complete diorama stands at around 15 cm. This non-articulated set is designed as a complete scene to be displayed on a shelf, in a display cabinet or on a desk.

Origin and character lore

Yoshiki Tsujinaka and Hikaru are two childhood friends living in a remote rural village. Their relationship lies at the heart of *The Summer Hikaru Died*, a work blending teenage life, supernatural horror and psychological drama.

After Hikaru goes missing in the mountains, he returns to the village appearing perfectly normal. Yoshiki, however, quickly realises that the person who has returned to him is no longer really his friend, but some unknown entity that has taken on his appearance, his memories and part of his personality.

Despite this unsettling discovery, Yoshiki chooses to remain by the side of this new ‘Hikaru’. Their daily lives continue whilst increasingly strange phenomena begin to manifest themselves around the village. The diorama for this figurine deliberately highlights a simple moment shared by the two characters, creating a contrast with the eerie, supernatural atmosphere that characterises their story.
