Discover Maomao in an elegant outfit inspired by traditional clothing with this figurine from the world of *The Apothecary’s Notebooks*. Standing approximately 13 cm tall, it is a compact decorative piece, ideal for adding to a collection dedicated to the series, Japanese anime characters or Banpresto’s creations.
Maomao is depicted wearing a white top with loose sleeves and a long red skirt, the pleats of which lend movement to the composition. A beige and red belt accentuates her waist, whilst her dark blue hair is carefully styled and adorned with small ornaments. The figurine strikes a calm and graceful pose, with one hand held out slightly in front of her.
With her other hand, the character holds up a white fox mask decorated with red markings. This accessory, combined with her outfit reminiscent of that of a shrine priestess, gives this version a different identity from her usual appearance at the Imperial Palace. The contrasts between the white, the red and the dark shades of her hair particularly highlight the details of her costume and face.
Maomao is a young apothecary raised in the pleasure quarter. Passionate about medicinal plants, remedies and, above all, poisons, she possesses remarkable powers of observation as well as a solid grounding in science. After being abducted and sold as a servant to the imperial palace, she initially tries to keep a low profile, but her skills quickly attract Jinshi’s attention.
Her ability to analyse symptoms and solve seemingly mysterious phenomena leads her to become a taster for the concubine Gyokuyō. Curious, pragmatic and possessing a sense of justice that she often prefers to conceal, Maomao regularly finds herself caught up in intrigues, poisonings and complex affairs linked to the inner court.
