Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Scourge of the town of Hawkins in Indiana, Vecna is a demonic entity and the great orchestrator of the tragic events linked to the Upside Down. Once a human known as Henry Creel (then referred to as Subject One in Hawkins' laboratory), he was banished to this parallel dimension by Eleven after a bloody confrontation. Transformed by the toxic environment of the Upside Down World, he became a monster capable of infiltrating the minds of his victims to feed off their trauma and guilt. In the fifth and final season of the series, Vecna represents the ultimate threat to the real world, driving Eleven and his friends to the ultimate battle to seal Hawkins' fate once and for all.
