SPIDER-MAN - Mary Jane Watson - Figure Legend Series 15cm

From the Spider-Man universe, this Hasbro Marvel Legends action figure depicts Mary Jane Watson as she appears in the 1994 animated series *Spider-Man: The Animated Series*. Standing approximately 15 cm tall, it features a fully articulated design allowing you to adjust the position of the head, arms and legs to recreate various scenes inspired by the cartoon.

The figure captures Mary Jane’s distinctive look from the series: long red hair, a pale yellow top worn over a pink high-necked top, mauve trousers and brown boots. The sculpting and paintwork reflect the colourful aesthetic of the 1990s cartoon whilst maintaining the proportions and articulation characteristic of the Marvel Legends range.

Mary Jane comes with four accessories: two interchangeable hands, a long-stemmed rose and a copy of the Daily Bugle. These items allow for varied displays and directly reference her world and her relationship with Peter Parker. The set is presented on a retro blister card, whose illustrations and layout echo the aesthetic of earlier Spider-Man collections.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Mary Jane ‘MJ’ Watson is one of the most important characters in Peter Parker’s circle of friends. In the comics, her first full appearance comes in *The Amazing Spider-Man* #42, published in November 1966 and written by Stan Lee with art by John Romita Sr. After several attempts by Aunt May to arrange a meeting between them, Peter finally meets Mary Jane, whose arrival quickly becomes one of the most iconic moments in Spider-Man’s history.

In the main Marvel comics continuity, Mary Jane successively becomes Peter Parker’s close friend, confidante and romantic partner. An actress and model, she also discovers his secret identity and plays a vital role in his life for many years, despite the dangers associated with Spider-Man’s activities.

This figurine is specifically inspired by the 1994 animated series *Spider-Man*, which reinterprets several classic elements of the relationship between Peter and Mary Jane. Its retro packaging and accessories, notably the rose and the Daily Bugle newspaper, are a direct nod to this animated version and the aesthetic of the 1990s series.
