SPIDER-MAN - Carnage - Figure Legend Series 15cm

From the Spider-Man universe, this Hasbro Marvel Legends figure depicts Carnage, the red symbiote bonded to Cletus Kasady. Its design is based on the famous comic book crossover ‘Maximum Carnage’. Standing approximately 15 cm tall, it features a fully articulated design intended to recreate the character’s particularly aggressive and dynamic poses.

The figure recreates Carnage’s classic comic book appearance, with his red body covered in irregular black patterns, his large white eyes and his tapered limbs evoking the symbiote’s organic extensions. The hands with elongated fingers and the taut silhouette emphasise the character’s unstable nature, whilst a symbiotic tendril effect can be added to enhance his presence on display.

Hasbro has equipped this version with over 20 points of articulation as well as four accessories: two interchangeable hands, an alternative head depicting Cletus Kasady without the symbiotic mask, and a Carnage tentacle effect. These elements allow the symbiote to be displayed in its full form as well as its human host. The set is presented on a retro blister card, designed in the spirit of the classic Marvel Legends collections dedicated to Spider-Man.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Carnage is descended from the Venom symbiote. When this new alien entity comes into contact with Cletus Kasady, Eddie Brock’s former cellmate, it finds in him a particularly dangerous host. The bond between the two is deeper than that between Venom and Eddie Brock: Marvel describes Carnage’s original symbiote as having fused with Kasady right down to the level of his blood cells.

Cletus Kasady first appeared in *The Amazing Spider-Man* #344, before becoming Carnage in *The Amazing Spider-Man* #361. The symbiote grants him superhuman strength and speed, as well as the ability to transform his organic matter into claws, blades, filaments and other weapons, which explains the distinctive red extensions reproduced on this Marvel Legends figure.

The figure is specifically inspired by ‘Maximum Carnage’, a major Spider-Man crossover published in the 1990s. In this story, Cletus Kasady escapes from the Ravencroft Institute and rallies a number of criminals to his cause – including Shriek, Demogoblin, Doppelganger and Carrion – in order to wreak havoc across Manhattan. This threat prompts Spider-Man and Venom, in particular, to join forces, supported by several other Marvel heroes.

This Marvel Legends version therefore directly links Carnage’s classic look to one of his most iconic stories, whilst the alternative Cletus Kasady head serves as a visual reminder of the inseparable bond between the symbiote and its host.
