Origin and character’s universe
Released in 1995, *Species* is a cult science-fiction and horror film directed by Roger Donaldson. The plot begins when American scientists receive a radio message of extraterrestrial origin containing an unknown DNA sequence. By combining these genes with human cells, they create Sil, a female-looking hybrid with a phenomenal growth rate. Having escaped from the high-security laboratory, Sil transforms into a fearsome predator driven by an unerring reproductive instinct, seeking to mate in order to produce offspring capable of wiping out humanity. The striking and nightmarish biomechanical design of her true form was created by the legendary Swiss artist H.R. Giger, already famous for his work on the creature in*Alien*. This Funko Pop! figurine captures the unique aesthetic and retro feel of this 90s classic, making it ideal for fans of cinematic monsters.
