SOUSAI SHOJO TEIEN - Side Tail - Model Kit 16cm

Sousai Shojo Teien — 1/10 Scale 16 cm Articulated Side Tail Model Kit

Create and customise a new heroine from the Sousai Shojo Teien range with this Side Tail model kit designed by Kotobukiya. This 1/10 scale articulated model depicts a schoolgirl in a summer outfit in understated black tones, complete with numerous interchangeable parts allowing you to change her hairstyle, expression and pose.

The model stands out for its dynamic side-swept hairstyle, with finely sculpted strands that convey a sense of lightness and movement. A second rear section is included to replace the side ponytail with a two-pigtail hairstyle. This modular design allows you to quickly change the character’s overall appearance without having to repaint or alter the parts.

Four facial expressions are available: smiling, winking, angry and a mischievous grin. Each is supplied as a pre-painted, ready-to-use face as well as an unpainted version. A sheet of decals for the eyes allows you to create different looks and further customise the blank faces.

The articulated structure comprises several elements specially designed to allow for a variety of poses. In addition to the standard torso, the kit contains a bust leaning forwards and legs that allow the character to be displayed in a seated position with her legs crossed. Three different skirts are also provided: a standard version, a version for dynamic poses and a version suitable for the seated position. The cardigan tied around the waist is integrated directly into these parts.

The set includes eight types of hands for each side, including open, closed and pointed hands, as well as hands holding various objects or forming a victory sign. A smartphone, bare feet and a display stand round off the display options. Measuring approximately 16 cm when assembled, the model features multi-coloured moulded parts and can be displayed unpainted, whilst remaining fully customisable by modellers.

Origin and background of the collection

Sousai Shojo Teien, which translates as ‘Garden of Creative Young Girls’, is an original collection from Kotobukiya dedicated to articulated female figures designed to be assembled and customised. Unlike figures based on a specific anime or manga, the range features original schoolgirls whose clothes, faces, hairstyles and accessories can be mixed and matched.

The various kits share many compatible joints and parts. This design allows you to modify the characters, mix and match uniforms, or create an entirely original heroine from several different models. Side Tail notably features Seira Ichijo’s body in her summer outfit, but adopts a new colour scheme dominated by black, as well as a brand-new hairstyle.

Thanks to the various pose pieces, Side Tail can be posed as an energetic schoolgirl taking a photo, checking her smartphone, chatting with her classmates or resting whilst seated. As the character is not tied to any specific storyline, each collector is free to invent a name, personality and role for her within their own universe.
