Origin and character background
Directly inspired by one of the most memorable musical sketches in American television pop culture, this figurine celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of the famous satirical programme Saturday Night Live. It features the recurring character of Nick Ocean (or Nick Rails), the cheesy lounge crooner portrayed on screen with masterful flair and depth by comedian Bill Murray. Performing in second-rate hotel bars or deserted ski resorts, this eccentric crooner reworks musical classics with absurd improvised lyrics and hilarious theatrical intensity, as seen in his famous cover of the Star Wars soundtrack.
This Funko Pop! version captures his signature kitsch stage look with great graphic fidelity, characterised by his colourful tuxedo with wide retro lapels, his immaculate period hairstyle and his dynamic attitude, microphone in hand. An absolutely exceptional choice to enhance your display dedicated to iconic figures from American television entertainment.
