Origin and background of the character
Created by Yuto Suzuki, the globally successful manga *Sakamoto Days* has established itself as an essential reference in modern shōnen, blending exceptionally fluid combat sequences with refreshing everyday humour. The story follows Taro Sakamoto, a legendary retired assassin and bon vivant who peacefully runs his small neighbourhood convenience shop. The only daughter of a powerful Chinese triad boss, Lu Shaotang crosses paths with Sakamoto whilst fleeing from hitmen hot on her heels following the massacre of her clan. A master of Tai Chi and an unrivalled practitioner of the ‘Drunken Master’ fighting style, her strength and reflexes increase exponentially when she drinks alcohol. Taken in by the Sakamoto family, she now works as a dedicated shop assistant whilst defending the shop from outside attacks. This Funko Pop! figurine faithfully captures the lively appearance and fiery temperament of this endearing heroine.
