This Banpresto figurine depicts Rem, one of the iconic heroines of Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World, in a ‘Poppin’ Heart’ variant from the ESPRESTO collection. Standing approximately 28 cm tall, it stands out for its particularly imposing size for a prize figure and for its dynamic design centred around a large red heart that serves as the base for the composition.
Rem is depicted in a variation of her famous black-and-white maid’s outfit, complete with her light-coloured apron, dark bodice, loose sleeves and numerous ruffles. Her short blue hair retains the strand that covers part of her face, as well as the pink embellishments that characterise her appearance. The pose, with her arms wide open and one leg raised slightly, gives the figurine a particularly cheerful and light-hearted air.
The central element of the design is the large, shiny red heart on which Rem is standing. This base directly echoes the name ‘Poppin’ Heart’ and lends the whole piece a strong visual presence. Banpresto also highlights the voluminous cut of the outfit and the heart-shaped motifs as the main aesthetic features of this version.

Character background and lore
Rem is Ram’s younger twin sister and works as a maid at Roswaal L. Mathers’s manor. The official Re:ZERO profile describes her as particularly competent in the various tasks required to run the estate. Behind her polite and reserved demeanour, she possesses a sharper temperament than meets the eye and harbours a deep admiration for her elder sister.
Rem and Ram belong to the Oni race. Rem possesses enhanced combat abilities when she uses her Oni powers, and complements these with magic as well as her skill in wielding a morning star, a heavy weapon attached to a chain. Tappei Nagatsuki himself points out that, although her natural abilities are relatively modest by her people’s standards, her training in magic and with this weapon makes her a formidable fighter.
Her relationship with Subaru Natsuki is one of the major emotional threads in Re:ZERO. Initially wary of him, Rem gradually comes to place deep trust in him following the events at Roswaal’s estate. Her courage, loyalty and ability to support those she cares about have played a major part in making her one of the series’ most popular characters. This Poppin’ Heart version specifically highlights this bright side of her character by presenting a cheerful, colourful and deliberately dynamic portrayal.
